After some charged debate in this week’s nomination round, three models surged past the competition in our hunt for the best home theater surge protector. Check out the finalists below, and don’t forget to vote at the bottom of the post.
12 outlets, 6 sized for adapters, right-angle plug, ~$20 on Amazon. - Nixorbo
11 outlets, 6 of them spaced for large adapters. I’ve had it for many years and never had an electronic device fried when plugged in to it. It’s only $20 on Amazon. Cheap but reliable investment to protect your home theater equipment. - jbatubara
I bought this after losing my whole entertainment center (TV, htpc, cable box, sound bar, modem, router) in a bad thunderstorm. They had previously been protected by a 10ish year old Monster surge that clearly failed. The reviews on this looked great, and the price was unreal.
So far so good with it, too! I’m a happy camper. - callmeivan
Im using the belkin 12 Outloet Pivot plug pwoer strip surge proctector with 8-Foot Power cord, 4320 Joules. Have been using it from 3 years now and its working without an issue. I live in the islands where we have frequent power outages so this thing is going strong. I really like having the pivoting sockets as well as it helps when you have large plugs crowding up the place. - biglo
Me too. There are so many things to plug up in my entertainment center and this had enough plugs and swivel plugs so that I could fit all the things. In addition I’ve mounted it to the wall and spent a lot of time limiting the amount of excess cable length so that everything is routed as easily as possible and I can plug in or unplug things without a whole lot of hassle and moving furniture. This thing is great! - Atrielienz
